What is a CRM

The two most important parts of a company are its employees and customers. Each affects differently on the company, employees internally whereas customers externally.

It all starts with the employee, and how they can build relationships with the latter. This begins with a business establishing a layout/plan that employees can follow.

The technology that manages the relationships and interactions between the customers and the business is called Customer Relationship Management, or CRM for short.

We are going to go in-depth on why it matters and how it works.

Why is a CRM important?

CRM global spending is expected to reach USD $115 billion by 2027 and is the fastest-growing enterprise software. The pillar of any business it’s the ability to revolve around its customers.

CRM ensures that a business is constantly in contact with all of its customers and helps the business to pivot to meet each of the customers’ unique needs.

As a company grows, information throughout the organization can be mixed up. With a CRM, a growing company can have a single mindset to focus on; this helps with transferring information since it all revolves around said mindset, the customer.

How does it work?

So what comprises a CRM? In layman’s terms, anything revolved around the customer. It grabs information from the company website and social media and brings it to a centralized area for all. This means that multiple departments are involved, such as sales, IT, and marketing:

  • Sales The sales department arguably uses this system the most. They use data to see what customers are buying the most or least, which can then lead the department to order more or less of an item.

  • Marketing– A CRM is important to marketing because the customer is the primary target market. The department needs data to see who is buying what in order to generate ads. They can also use the customers’ emails to send ads on sales or future events. Finally, they can target potential customers by their interactions, such as comments on social media or by what products they were viewing.

  • IT The IT department contains all information on customers. This means their contact info., credit card info. and what they purchased. IT also can analyze the data for other departments like sales and marketing that will help them with their endeavors.

A CRM is essential in order for your company to last long. There are a mass amount of CRMs available such as Clickup or Microsoft Dynamics. Find the right one that fits your company.

With the accessibility of the internet, there will be more and more customers available to you. This means you need to find your niche and create a CRM that will be beneficial to both your employees and customers.
