Retargeting Ads

What is retargeting?

Retargeting is using ads to target users who have previously interacted with you on your website or social channels.  Cross-channel targeting can be particularly effective as you increase the number of touchpoint with potential customers.

dynamic remarketing

What is remarketing?

Remarketing does not rely on paid ads, like remarketing.  The focus is mainly on re-engage previous or current customers, mostly though the use of email.  Though it could also be through text or app and browser notifications.

Remarketing is about nurturing the customer through the sales journey, after a sale you want them to know when you have new products, sales, or content you know would inform, delight or amuse them.  This strategy is about engagement and retention than it is about finding new customers.

Remarketing vs Retargeting

Increasingly these terms are used interchangeably, but let’s look at the subtle differences.

Should you remarket? should you retarget? Should you do both?  These are great questions to ask.  The answer really depends on your business model, funds, and time.

Targeting potential customers who have interacted with you, but didn’t convert, is a powerful way to grow your customer base.  Maybe someone was interested in purchasing, but did not because of a variety of reasons.  Think of yourself, how often do you get distracted online, put something in a cart and forget, or decide to wait for sale.

Retargeting is a good reminder for people about your business, goods and services.

Reaching out to known customers through email, app notifications, and browser notifications is low cost and engages with an audience that you know has a high-level of interest in you and your brand.

Remarketing is more than a reminder.  You need to provide something new of value to your former customers.  This value could be informational, transactional, or some you know they’ll enjoy.

Search retargeting

Retargeting marketing

There are many potenital platforms you can use to deploy a retargeting ad campaign.  Advanced targeting based on analytics lets you deliver highly personalized ads to your potential customers.

Google Ads Retargeting

Google does call these ads remarketing.  Esentially how they retarget potential customers is by having someone, like us, install a tracking code (snippet) on your website that allows Google to collect users data and put it into a list.  This is anonymized data, so you can not see who it is, but it allows Google to deliver ads to those people.

Facebook Retargeting ads

Facebook is the biggest example, but you can also use LinkedIn and Pinterest to retarget people who have interacted with you on those platform or that visited your website.

Our Approach to remarketing & retargeting

Our strategy is to gain you the most customers possible.  We put you in-front of people who were already interested in your goods and services.  Remarketing and retargeting gives potential customers a second look at you.

Understanding your customers and their actions on your owned channels lets you go after your target audience in a meaningful way.

Both strategies increasesyour brand awareness and can be part of your omni-channel marketing strategy.   Even if your remarketing campaign doesn’t produce

These strategies also help you develop  leads; not everyone buys a product or services the first time they see it.  By building brand awareness using these remarketing/retargeting strategies the eventual outcome will lead to more conversions.  Being top-of-mind will have customers come back to your website.

Deep understanding of your website’s analytics allows us to develop a personalized strategy that will yield the biggest impact.

None of this will work if your website is broken

If your website doesn’t work, there is no point in paying for ads or spending time developing emails to drive traffic to a poor experience.   Actually you can end up hurting your business severally, potential losing customers forever.

You want visitors to your website to not only enjoy the experience, friction free, but also to accomplish your business goals.

Web Design is more than just a nice looking website; it’s the functionality, the ease of use and driving people to the actions and content you want them to do and see.

when should you use remarketing lists for search ads?

This is a question we get asked often.  You can use an email list, traditionally meant remarket, to build a search ad campaign, retarget.  There are some great benefits to doing this.  Depending on the platform you are using, Google ads, Facebook ads, or something else, you can use that list not only to target those people but to build look-alike audiences.

PPC Campaigns

Pay per click advertising can be a multi-channel, integrated approach to your paid media marketing. The way pay per click works on any platform is that when someone clicks on your ad you pay a fee. The benefit to this model is that your ads could be displayed many times over, but only when someone clicks do you pay.
